ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My current series of work is as much about the process as it is about the end product. The titles are born with each painting. My work evolves out of feelings I have about being an artist and a mother. When each painting is finished, it somehow visually represents for me the thoughts I was having as I created it. Who I am as an artist is always changing for me. I just try to stay focused and true and let everything else come as it will.

My paintings are made up of modeling paste and acrylic paint on hard board. I work in layers with various tools and then I rework the paintings with brushes, rags and my fingers. I use these materials and this technique because it feels good to have a defined process. I like to develop my work in stages and come back to it another day and time. As in life, in art, it is good to sit on something for a while before making any final decisions. Coming to the end of a painting makes me feel that I have brought closure to the issue that was on my mind at the time.
